Gold for supply in December rose 30 cents to $1,650 an oz. Silver for supply in December fell 8 cents to $19.59 an oz and December copper was unchanged at $3.47 a pound.
The greenback fell from 148.18 yen to 146.94 yen. The euro rose from 98.82 cents to 98.83 cents.
