Delhi's slum children take part in PM's cross country race

Hundreds of youngsters and youth from the slums of the nationwide capital participated within the ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi Cross Nation Slum Race’ organized by the Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) right now.

Union House Minister Amit Shah flagged off the race organized as a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebration packages as a part of ‘Seva Pakhwada’ at Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi.

Shri Shah stated that the target of the race was to carry all sections of the society into the mainstream of nationwide life.

He stated that together with training, this race will join these youngsters with sports activities and also will increase their self-confidence.

Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta stated the race has uncovered the expertise within the metropolis’s slums and unauthorized colonies.

In a press release, the Delhi BJP stated that round 10,000 youngsters and youth from all elements of town participated within the race, out of which 32 got prizes.

The cross nation race was divided into 4 age teams, consisting of girls and boys aged 10–15 years, who competed within the 2.5 km class.

One other class of two.5 km race was open to all age teams. The 5 km race was organized for folks aged 16-20 years or above.

T-shirts, certificates and medals got to all of the contributors.
