Hundreds of well-liked cooktops are being recalled throughout Canada due to a possible hearth hazard.
Well being Canada says about 1000’s of ‘electrical radiant warmth cooktops’ manufactured by U.S.-based Whirpool, KitchenAid and JennAir are affected.
The company says the cooktop’s heating parts might activate by themselves.
The recall applies to 24″, 30″, and 36″ cooktops with ceramic glass surfaces.
There’s been no reported accidents in Canada, however there was one report of somebody’s kitchen cupboards being broken when the cooktop malfunctioned.
Within the U.S. there’s been 110 incidents with the cooktops, together with two reviews of burns.
Well being Canada says 2,838 of the affected items have been bought in Canada.
